Located along Interstate 35E in Italy, Texas, the Italy Travel Center is a reface and remodel project that revitalized a multi-tenant highway travel stop serving motorists and professional drivers. The scope centered on renovating the existing McDonald's into a Golden Chick restaurant, complete with the brand's signature yellow awnings, star-accented storefront, and rooftop signage mounted on stone pediments. The lower left side of the building was renovated to add new restroom facilities, improving convenience for the high volume of highway travelers passing through. The exterior refresh paired warm tan stone veneer with deep red brick accents and a black-railed second-story balcony, giving the two-story facility a cohesive, brand-forward roadside presence. Co-tenants including Stuckey's and Einstein Bros. Bagels benefit from the upgraded shared environment. The result is a functional, welcoming travel center that balances multi-brand retail, dining, and essential traveler amenities under one roof.
